It takes about 2-3 years for the family to be fully habituated – it will be constantly visited by rangers, tourists and researchers until it is familiar with presence of humans. After being fully habituated, the family will be declared open to be visited by travelers each day. All tourists heading for the habituation experience are advised to be at the Park headquarters or starting point early in the morning at 7:30 am for the briefing conducted to give an insight into the habituation process.

After briefing, the journey to the jungle starts in a group following the permanently established trails. You will trek in the jungle until you locate the Wild Gorilla family used for the habituation experience. When you discover presence of this family, you will be in the Jungles for about four hours while following movements of these apes, see them as they feed, construct temporary huts, play with colleagues and more.
